I FINALLY get to write about our summer vacation. We went to Bath (by car), and we stayed in two different hotels on the way and in Bath (well, Batheaston), we stayed in a lovely cottage. It was the first vacation with family members missing (my two now adult sisters). Well, I love long trips, I love reading in the car, listening to music, falling asleep and just relaxing the whole time. And it’s sometimes even beautiful to drive around. Every time I’ve been to England (like four times now) it has been sunny most of the time. Rainy England? I don’t know it. England’s weather presents itself rather goodly when I visit.
Uhm, now, how should I continue? There is a lot about that week I won’t publish – it would be simply too much! I tried to choose the best photographs … Well, our cottage. I loved it, especially the big window in the living room. And I loved the breakfasts. I really did. Somehow, when I think of that vacation, I smell coffee and bread with jam. Or the brilliant black tea. My goodness. They HAVE to export that to Germany. Well, you may know or not, that in the Romans were having their Roman Baths in Bath( Haha, this sounds so stupid), because there are England’s only hot springs. Of course we visited it – it’s the reason Bath is so popular and the reason for all the tourists – but we didn’t visit it in the afternoon (we would have had to wait hours) but in the evening. Only few visitors were there and the lights went on and it was amazing. My dad and I even joked around with the sign…Don’t mind the bad quality, like I said it was getting late and less light means less quality. We walked around after that visit and passed by the cathedral. In reality, one was not able to see the colors of the lights. But as I took a photo, I was surprised. On one morning (the night had been terrible, I hardly slept because of no reason I couldn’t fall asleep) I sneaked out and walked up the hill (5am) and I took pictures as the sun came up. Unfortunately the trees were in the way, but the clouds went pink anyway. And one day we went to Castle Combe. That is such a cute village, so old and charming and everything, with a little church, a place to shop cake, a café… Lovely.Last but not least: The cathedral. When we entered, there was this creepy organ music, if it’s worth to be called music at all. Must have been some so called ‘modern’ stuff’, but honestly, to me it sounded like a mad person rolling the head over the keys. But as it stopped, we began to enjoy our visit.I’m glad I finally found some time to publish this!
My plan was to write one article. But then I noticed that I had to many pictures, so I decided to split it up. But basically this and the following article are one. This one here is about the 24th (in Germany we start celebrating on the 24th, evening) and the next one about the 25th. Aaanyway. First I want to drop the picture of our tree, like I promised. Well, we never decorate it like “so-many-red-and-golden-stuff-that-no-green-is-left”, we keep it quit simple but I like it that way. And then we have – of course – our Advent wreath. I must confess that it was hard to photograph it. But then I finally got a clear shot. Except from the fact that our candles are red and not pink, I think it’s a pretty good one. Oh, and I’ll add our lovely big shining Christmas Star from our living room. When I went throw the Christmas Pictures that I took from last year I learned that I have to take waaayyy more pictures. So I annoyed my family the whole time and took like hundred pictures during two hours. That’s why I took a picture of that candle. I already ate a lot(!) of cookies and so on but as well-behaved as I am (Haha, good joke) I stayed at the table. But I was bored and then … click! After playing some music for my grandparents I got my present. I chose it myself, so it was no surprise, but my old bag was like … fit for the dumpster and I was so looking forward to get my new one. Uhm, please ignore that dirty mirror. Seriously. I’m a bit embarrassed! My sister managed to make my hair curly that night. I didn’t expect these curls to last that long, but when I woke up the next day, I still had them. So that’s already it about the 24th of December. If you think this one was good, hold your breath and wait for the one about the 25th! Be prepared. Haha.
This is the third or forth week of school (is the time really running THAT fast?) and I didn’t get to write anything yet because I am busy with school and hobbies, blah blah. So I have this new class (we have been mixed up) and it’s doing fine, well, I miss one of my friends, she happens to be in the other class :( … But hey, check out this banana! Isn’t it amazing? It was a few days ago and I was like – I need food … sprinkles … and banana … means … sprinkana? :D No idea. But look at it:
And I finally started redecorating my room. I moved in there half a year ago, but some stuff I’ve never seen before and have no idea who it belongs to, so I get stuck with it. *Dadadam* But I fixed it, at least I tried. I think I still have to work hard to make my place the cutest room ever (being dramatic, much?) but the first angles look great already. I think they’re good enough to be shown:
Oh.. and we have this crazy blackberry plant. Nobody wanted it to be there, nobody put it there, but still it grew in our garden between stones and it has some nice blackberries though! So I took the chance to add vanilla ice-cream and make a milk-shake. You have to know, I’m sooo bad when it comes to kitchen work or something, I mess everything up and the kitchen is ruined after I used it every time. This time I cracked a part of the shaker or what ever you call that thing. The blackberry milkshake was thrown all over the place, and my mum was mad at me … it was delicious …. :D Here, I even had the matching glass to drink it – nooo covered advertisement ;) –
And then there is the field behind our backyard. Now it is empty and you had a great view a few nights ago – the moon was shining so bright you could see yourself leaving shadows. I took my camera and walked out there, all by myself in the middle of the night – huh! The neighbor’s dog started to bark … (I’m such a wannabe-gangster :P) this is the best photo I took (60 seconds exposure time):It always looks better in real-life but this one’s my first where the moon is actually a moon on the picture and not some tiny little whatever. I really enjoy my life right now.(being philosophical again, I know). I’ve got these great friends and this family, I’m really lucky.
